Gumby Syndrome

The month of January is now a memory with February a third gone already. Illness reared its’ ugly head the 2nd week of the New Year and wants to stick around as long as I allow it. Sometimes it’s not an option to change your status and just “get well”, therefore, I take adapt the Gumby Syndrome and become flexible. I am ready to get well and get things done, but unfortunately, my mind and body must be in agreement on this.

This is where patience comes into play. It is going to be 63 degrees today as I spend time here in South Eastern Va. I have recovered from C-19 for the most part. It is a bit like the flu with some cold symptoms thrown in just for fun. I am working to get the congestion cleared out. Sometimes there is the chain of events which follow one event to the next and you must see it through. The virus is actually still trying to leave behind some congestion. My natural immunity should be stronger, however.

To compound the delay in my usual activities, I attempted to pick up a basket of writing materials that was heavier than I expected and did not brace my back for it. This was while recovering from the 1st illness. I have now been nursing the back & sciatic nerve pain and recovery for almost 2 weeks. It is frustrating, especially on pretty days when the sunshine is waiting on me, but it is what it is, right?

Each day has its’ own troubles and triumphs, and we are to take each day as it comes. Drop the complaining mode pull up that long face and make preparations for those things I want to get done when the healing is complete. Choose to Complain or Count Your Blessings, they both take the same amount of your time, but one has more benefits.

Sincerely, Mo
